MOSCOW, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft with a Russian-U.S. team on board has successfully docked to the International Space Station (ISS), Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos said Wednesday.
The docking took place at 05:55 a.m. Moscow time (0255 GMT), a Roscosmos statement said.
The Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft was launched earlier Wednesday from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The spacecraft delivered to the ISS members of the new ISS expedition: Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin and U.S. astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Joseph Acaba, who are expected to spend six months on the orbit.
They will join the crew consisting of U.S. astronaut, commander of the crew Randolf Bresnik, Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryazansky and Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli.
During their orbital mission, the ISS crew will carry out scientific research, spacewalk and other tasks, Tass news agency cited a Roscosmos source as saying.
