LIMA, Peru, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted Wednesday here for French capital Paris to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and Los Angeles of the United States the 2028 Games.
This was the first time the IOC has awarded both Games at the same time.
With all the other bidding cities withdrawing before the vote, Paris and Los Angeles were the only bidders for 2024 and 2028.
Los Angeles dropped its bid for the 2024 before the final decision was made, and in return, it got the 2028.
Both cities will host their third Olympics.
