WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- A woman was killed in the U.S. state of Kansas on Saturday after a man set her on fire and three police officers were injured in the incident, local media reported.
A man entered the home of 65-year-old Sharon Horn in Baxter Springs in the early hours of Saturday and began assaulting her.
The man threw fuel on Horn and two police officers who came to the scene, and set them on fire. Horn later died in hospital while the two officers sustained injuries. A third police officer was injured while trying to extinguish the flames.
The suspect was known to Horn, according to a local police report. Further details of the case are being investigated.
