PHNOM PENH, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prince Norodom Sirivudh has been hospitalized since last week after he suffered a stroke that has left him partially paralyzed, according to a statement from his office on Tuesday.

Sirivudh is being treated in the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital because of high blood pressure, which caused the stroke on Nov. 6, said the statement.

"At the present, he is getting better, but he still cannot move his left body," it said, adding that doctors were closely monitoring his illness situation and hoped that he would recover soon.

The 66-year-old prince is currently holding several roles, including Supreme Privy Counselor to King Norodom Sihamoni, member of the Constitutional Council, and founder and chairman of the board of directors of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace.
