Dollar climbs to mid-112 yen zone on U.S. tax reform outlook

TOKYO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar rose to the mid-112 yen zone Thursday in Tokyo on expectations for the progress of the U.S. tax reforms.

At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 112.54-56 yen compared with 112.24-34 yen in New York and 112.10-11 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday. It moved between 112.23 yen and 112.61 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1794-1796 dollars and 132.73-77 yen against 1.1791-1801 dollars and 132.38-48 yen in New York and 1.1824-1826 dollars and 132.55-59 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
