Top 6 Pakistani ICT college talents to join final competition in China

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Six Pakistani college students who ranked at the top of the national level competition of Information Communication Technology (ICT) will represent the country to play in the final match to be held in Shenzhen in southern China later this month.

A total of 7,000 college students from different universities across Pakistan participated in the ICT skill competition co-organized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Chinese telecom giant Huawei in August.

According to Huawei, the top six competitors will represent Pakistan to contest others in the final international competition in Huawei's headquarters. The winner of the international final will be awarded 30,000 U.S. dollars.

Ayyaz Ahmed, the No. 1 in the national match, said that the ICT skill competition is closely relevant to his field and called on his other five fellows to keep their passions in succeeding the competition by getting the top one position worldwide.

He said the event provided a platform for the students worldwide to learn, develop and promote their skills in ICT area which is a future of the globe.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing congratulated the top six students, saying the ICT will be an important area for the two countries to cooperate and more resources from both sides should be put on their technological and educational cooperation.
