BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foundation announced Wednesday that sinology research centers will be established in universities in Russia and the United States.
"The Chinese side will work with the University of Florida and the Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics in starting the centers," said the China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation.
The non-governmental academic centers will focus on developing textbooks for learning Chinese, and exploring business models with local partners to promote Chinese culture.
A similar center in Malta was contracted on Nov. 29.
By 2020, sinology centers will be established in 11 countries, including Greece and France, the foundation said.
