After promotion at an international tourism trade show ITB Berlin, Sanya, a coastal city in south China’s Hainan province, has gained increasing popularity among German tourists.

In 2016, the number of German travelers to Sanya reached over 8,000, according to a Hainan’s official at ITB Berlin convention.

And this number might see a stable increase in the next few years.

Sanya’s diversified tourism resources, such as its excellent ecological environment, unique Li and Miao ethnic groups customs and convenient tourism services, attract German tourists, said the official.

Moreover, under the favored entry policy of Hainan Province, German groups of two or more travelers are able to enter Sanya without a visa and stay for up to 21 days, the official added.

Some local visitors at the ITB Berlin convention showed their willingness to travel to Sanya in the future to experience a beautiful coastal city with unique ethnic minority culture.

ITB Berlin convention is the world’s largest comprehensive tourism trade show.
