KABUL, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Unknown gunmen abducted and killed an imam or prayer leader of a mosque in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, a local TV channel reported Tuesday.
"Hijratullah, imam of a mosque in Rodat district, was killed after being kidnapped by unidentified armed men ridding motorbike after evening prayer on Monday," 1TV reported.
No one has claimed responsibility for the killing.
In a similar incident, gunmen attacked and killed a religious scholar in the southern Zabul province on Monday.
