URUMQI, China, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Darius Adams and Li Gen combined for 69 points to carry Xinjiang beat their opponents Guangdong 104-96 at home court in the 24th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday night.

While Darius Adams was frustrated by the solid defense of Guangdong team, local power forward Yu Changdong helped Xinjiang to lead with 28-25 after the first quarter. After Guangdong stormed a 9-2 run to cut the deficit in the second half, swingman Li Gen and Adams hit 3 three-pointers in a row to ensure the defending champions still take the lead entering the fourth quarter.

Thanks to Adams' highlight performance, Xinjiang finally put out Guangdong's late surge, sealing their third straight win with 104-96.

Darius Adams earned 38 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, Li Gen got a season-high 31 points for Xinjiang. Brazilian center Augusto Lima finished with 6 points and 8 rebounds in his debut.

Guangdong's Andrew Nicholson, Yi Jianlian and Zhou Peng combined for 76 points, but the other five players only got 20 points.
