Adams, Li Gen lead Xinjiang past Guangdong 104-96

BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Darius Adams scored 38 points, Li Gen had 31 points, leading defending champions Xinjiang to 104-96 win over Guangdong in the 24th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday night.

Xinjiang led the game for most time, thanks to good performances from local shooters. Li Gen got a season-high 31 points, stealing the spotlight from Yi Jianlian and Zhou Peng of Guangdong. Yu Changdong added 14 points. Augusto Lima had 6 points and 8 rebounds in his debut.

Guangdong's Andrew Nicholson, Yi Jianlian and Zhou Peng combined for 76 points, but the other players only got 20 points, which ended their winning streak at four games.

After a frustrating away loss to Fujian, Shandong played aggressively from the start at Zhejiang. Ty Lawson had a game-high 36 points, Donatas Motiejunas added 21 points and 13 rebounds, Ding Yan Yuhang scored 20 points, helping Shandong to beat Zhejiang 113-97 the second time this season.

Elsewhere, Guangzhou beat Bayi 121-102. Liaoning suffered a loss to Jiangsu 98-84. Tongxi took Jilin down with 107-94. Beijing won 106-98 over Tianjin.
