KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Team Asia held on to its one-point lead in the second day of Eurasia Cup against Team Europe on Saturday with steady performance of the golfers.

Chinese golfer Li Haotong, who brought Team Asia the lead with a birdie in the last hole in the previous day, continued his effective partnership with Malaysia's Nicholas Fung.

The duo wrapped up the day's matches with a convincing victory over Bernd Wiesberger and Ross Fisher of England, as Team Asia lead 6.5 points against Team Europe's 5.5 points after the second day.

Team Europe got on a strong start on Saturday before Malaysia's Gavin Green and Japan's Yuta Ikeda gave Team Asia a huge boost when they beat Spain's Rafa Cabrera Bello and France's Alexander Levy by one hole.

Team Asia has never led at any stage over their continental rivals in the history of the Eurasia Cup but after holding the lead for two days, team captain Arjun Atwal is confident that his team could win when the match conclude on Sunday.

"I absolutely believe we can win the Eurasia Cup. Otherwise I wouldn't be here," said Atwal. "I'm not surprised or shocked by our results so far. Because if you look at my players, they are fantastic and they are all winners."
