Sudan defeat Guinea 2-1 in African Nations Championship

RABAT, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sudan beat Guinea 2-1 in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in the Moroccan city of Casablanca on Sunday.

Sudan enjoyed an early lead thanks to Omar Suliman's header in the 19th minute, but Guinea equalized at the 55th minute through another header from Sekou Camara.

In the opener game of Group A, Morocco defeated Mauritania 4-0 on Saturday.

In the second round, Morocco will play Guinea while Mauritania will face Sudan on Wednesday in Casablanca.

The biennial tournament, which is reserved only for African players based in their domestic leagues, features 16 teams in four groups.
