TIRANA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Albanian government has launched an 8 million-U.S. dollar scheme of support for agriculture sector targeting at a three-fold increase of the greenhouse area up to the end of 2018 and use of innovative technology, Dhimo Kote, deputy agriculture minister told reporters Friday.
According to Kote, this fund was expected to boost agriculture production in Albania and export of agriculture products which has already entered into the trend of progressive growth.
"The new scheme of subsidies for the current year focuses on vegetable production," Kote said.
He added that government offers through the subsidies scheme a direct financial support for all those farmers and investors who will build greenhouses from 10 to 100 hectares.
