BERLIN, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Struggling Bundesliga side SV Hamburg on Monday appointed Bernd Hollerbach, 48, as coach, a day after the sacking of Markus Gisdol.
Former SV Hamburg defender Hollerbach, who agreed a contract until 2019, will try his best to prevent SV Hamburg, who are second bottom, their first-ever relegation from the Bundesliga.
Gisdol stepped down after the team's 2-0 home defeat to basement side Cologne on Saturday.
