Nepali leaders meet visiting Indian FM

KATHMANDU, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and other political leaders met with visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday, with both sides expressing willingness to further enhance ties.

After the meeting, Deuba tweeted that they discussed ways to further bolster the multi-faceted Nepal-India relations.

Madhav Sharma, a press advisor to the Nepali president, told media that the two sides discussed measures to strenghthen bilateral ties between the two countries during the meeting.

Spokesperson of Indian External Affairs Ministry wrote on Twitter that Swaraj congratulated the leaders on the successful conduct of the recent elections.

"Discussions focused on enhancing our bilateral cooperation to take our age-old and historical partnership forward," the spokesperson said.

Concluding her two-day visit to Kathmandu, the Indian minister returned home on Friday afternoon.
