SEOUL, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's supply in the manufacturing industry, including goods produced locally and imported from overseas, posted the biggest quarterly fall in the fourth quarter of last year, a government report showed Wednesday.

The domestic manufacturing supply declined 3.3 percent in the October-December quarter from a year earlier, the biggest quarterly decline since the relevant data began to be compiled in 2010, according to Statistics Korea.

It marked the first quarterly fall in seven quarters as the number of business days tumbled in October due to the Chuseok holiday, the South Korean version of Thanksgiving Day.

Products manufactured in the domestic factories dropped 6.6 percent, while goods brought into South Korea from overseas expanded 4.3 percent on demand for machinery equipment and electronic products.

Capital goods supply dipped 1.6 percent, but capital goods supply advanced 3.1 percent on demand for equipment for semiconductors.

Intermediate goods supply dropped 5.4 percent as auto parts supply reduced on the partial labor strikes by some of local automakers.
