PYONGYANG, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The latest U.S. nuclear policy outlined in Washington's Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) exposes the American ambition of world domination with nuclear supremacy, an official from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Tuesday.

The NPR has exposed U.S. President Donald Trump's "heinous ambition to blackmail other sovereign states and dominate the world with nuclear weapons," the Korean Central News Agency said, quoting a spokesperson of the Institute of American Studies under the DPRK's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Washington was "speeding up modernization and diversification of all its nuclear lethal weapons for possible use," the spokesperson said, adding that it has been a consistent policy of U.S. authorities to realize their wild ambition for world domination by relying on absolute nuclear supremacy.

By developing new nuclear weapons and readying to carry out preemptive strikes against adversaries, whether nuclear-armed or not, "the United States has made (a) declaration of war against the whole world," the spokesperson added.

The U.S. Defense Ministry on Friday officially published the 2018 NPR, the guiding principle for the future U.S. policy seeking enhanced nuclear deterrent which is already the world's most powerful. The NPR has drawn wide criticism.
