PARIS, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- France saw more new enterprises registered in January than December thanks to growing investment in business support activities and transport, and rising self-managed enterprises, official data showed Tuesday.

The country's new enterprises grew by 3.6 percent month on month to more than 55,000, with those dealing with business support activities and transport businesses growing by 10 percent and 7.6 percent respectively, according to data from French national statistics bureau Insee.

Self-managed enterprises also play a vital role in creating enterprises in France. In January, 41.3 percent of registered start-ups were self-managed enterprises, totalling 28,548.

For the last three months, buoyant transportation and real estate activities pulled higher the number of new enterprises by 17 percent. On the yearly basis, creation of companies also rose by 7.7 percent, the figures showed.

France's central bank, Banque de France, on Thursday estimated the country's economy will grow by 0.4 percent from January to March this year due to improvement of industrial and services businesses.

More temporary work, transport, accommodation and management consultancy activities drove up the services sector last month, with the same pace of growth estimated in February.
