NEW DELHI, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in India Thursday on a three-day state visit.

President Rouhani landed directly in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, where he will offer prayers at the historic Makkah Masjid (mosque) and interact with the selected leaders of the 1,000-strong Iranian community there Friday.

On Saturday, he will meet Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and later hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Delhi's iconic Hyderabad House, where several agreements are expected to be signed, according to the Indian External Affairs Ministry.

"During the forthcoming visit of the President of Iran, both sides would review the progress achieved in bilateral relations and also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest," the ministry said.
