BANGKOK, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Thailand has planned to substantially increase bilateral trade with Cambodia in the next few years, said Thai Commerce Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong on Monday.

Sontirat said he will lead a delegation of the Thai public and private sectors for trade talk during the sixth Thailand-Cambodia Joint Trade Committee meeting in Phnom Penh on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thailand planned to increase the bilateral trade value from last year's 5.2 billion U.S. dollars to some 15 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, the commerce minister said.

The Thai goods for the Cambodian markets include oil, beverages, jewelry and decorative items, sugar, motorcycles and motorcycle parts.

The Cambodian goods for the Thai markets include fruits, vegetables, metal ores, wires and garments.

About 60 percent of the total trade value was for the goods transported across the shared border between the two neighboring countries, according to the commerce minister.
