MANILA -- Philippine Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez on Tuesday underscored the need for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to "reinvent" itself by pursuing new development programs to spell wider economic inclusion across the Asia-Pacific region.
Dominguez, who chairs the ADB Board of Governors this year, said that between now and its 51st annual meeting in May, the ADB will be holding a series of forums and conferences meant to examine the changing global and regional realities and challenges. (Philippines-ADB)

NEW DELHI -- U.S. President Donald Trump's son Donald Trump Jr arrived here Tuesday on a week-long visit to India.
Apart from attending the Global Business Summit in the Indian capital, Trump Jr is scheduled to visit four Indian cities to cover the sprawling Trump portfolio. TOKYO -- Japan's minister in charge of Okinawa and Northern Territories affairs is in hospital after suffering a stroke, the government's top spokesman said Tuesday.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a press briefing on the matter that Tetsuma Esaki, 74, had been hospitalized and was undergoing observation after he suffered a suspected light stroke. (Japan-Minister-Stroke)

TOKYO -- An F-16 fighter jet belonging to the U.S. Misawa Airbase in northern Japan caught fire shortly after taking off on Tuesday morning, the Japanese Defense Ministry said.
Citing reports from the U.S. military, Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said that a fire in the plane's engine broke out as soon as the F-16 jet took off at around 8:39 a.m. local time from the Misawa Airbase in Aomori Prefecture. (Japan-U.S.-Fighter jet) Enditem
