Eleven teams from Clipper 2017-18 Race arrive at Sanya

HAIKOU, China, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- All the 11 teams have arrived at Sanya, the city of South China's Hainan Province on Friday, with PSP Logistics claiming a maiden win at the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Race.

The PSP Logistics crossed the finish line just offshore from the Sanya Serenity Coast Marina on Thursday at 1:41:20, completing the 4,300 nautical mile of Race 7.

Sanya Serenity Coast team finished fourth at 2:21:30 on Friday, just four minutes behind Dare To Lead, who finished in second place despite crossing the line in third due to a redress. Qingdao took the third place.

Sanya Serenity Coast team was given a welcome ceremony at its home port.

"I'm really looking forward to a chance to relax and see some sights," said Skipper Wendy.

The 11 Clipper Race yachts, along with their crew and supporters, will be based at Sanya Serenity Coast Marina and will enjoy the activities and excitement of the Clipper Race Village.

Clipper Round the World is known as the largest unprofessional yatch race in the world. A total of 712 crew members from 41 countries and regions have participated in the 2017-18 race.
