MANILA, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Philippine police arrested on Sunday the widow of a slain Malaysian terrorist leader in a raid in the southern Philippine province of Lanao del Norte.
Police said Jerome Dongon, the 45-year-old wife of Zulkifli Bin Hir alias Marwan, was arrested early Sunday morning in Tubod town. She is accused of supporting the extremist groups and for illegally possessing firearms and explosives.
Dongon was previously married to Abu Sayyaf leader Khadaffy Janjalani. When Janjalani was killed in 2006, she married Marwan.
Marwan was killed in a clash with Philippine police and military in Jan. 2015 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. At least 44 policemen were also killed in the raid that targeted Marwan. He was a top leader of the regional al-Qaida-linked Jemmaah Islamiya (JI) terror network.
Authorities said they seized high-powered firearms, ammunition and bomb-making components during the raid at Dongon's house.
