ATHENS, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras proceeded to a mini cabinet reshuffle, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos announced on Wednesday following the resignation of both the economy minister and his wife, a deputy labor and social solidarity minister, earlier this week.

The cabinet's core remained unchanged. Yannis Dragassakis was appointed the new economy minister while remaining also deputy prime minister, according to the announcement broadcast live on Greek national broadcaster ERT.

The shake-up comes after the outgoing economy minister Dimitris Papadimitriou and his wife Rania Antonopoulou, who served as deputy labor and social solidarity minister, stepped down over a state subsidy they received to rent an apartment in Athens.
