Nigeria host FIFA World Cup trophy

LAGOS, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The World Cup trophy on Wednesday arrived Abuja, Nigeria's capital aboard a chartered flight.

Nigeria's Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick and other officials were at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to receive the trophy.

On Thursday, a whole-day consumer viewing of the trophy is planned for the Old Parade Ground in Abuja.

The trophy and its accompanying team will then fly into Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub on Friday morning, to be received by the state governor Akinwunmi Ambode and NFF First Vice-President Seyi Akinwunmi.

The FIFA World Cup trophy will travel to 91 cities across 51 countries on six continents.
