MADRID, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The Catalan issue is no longer a worry for the vast number of Spaniards, according to the monthly barometer of public opinion published by the Spanish Center for Sociological Investigation (CIS) on Thursday.
When respondents in CIS report were asked about what worried them (over the period of February 11 to 14), only 11 percent said Catalonia was the issue. It dropped from the 29 percent who admitted being worried by the possibility of Catalan independence in the wake of the October 1 referendum, which was deemed illegal by the Spanish Constitutional Court.
Unemployment continues to be the question that most keeps Spaniards awake at night, with 65 percent citing it as a worry, while corruption and fraud are the second major worry for Spaniards after being mentioned by 38.7 percent of those questioned.
