DHAKA, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Law enforcers have detained 39 aid workers at Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district, some 292 km southeast of capital Dhaka.

A senior police official said they have been working at the camps without any valid documents.

"They entered Bangladesh with tourist visa and didn't have permission to work here," Afzurul Haque Totul, additional superintendent of Cox's Bazar district police, was quoted as saying in a report of the Daily Star on Sunday.

They were working under different international aid agencies, he said.

While entering Rohingya camps on Sunday morning, police detained them as they failed to show any documentation in favor of their work in the camps, the police official added.
