Tokyo stocks advance in morning on solid U.S. jobs data, eased inflation concerns

TOKYO, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning as investor sentiment was lifted by U.S. jobs data for February released at the end of last week and on eased U.S. inflation concerns.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 368.26 points, or 1.72 percent, from Friday to 21,837.46.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 24.55 points, or 1.43 percent, at 1,740.03.

Rubber product, machinery and metal product issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
