MADRID, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Local authorities confirmed on Monday that a 43-year-old Colombian man was shot and killed in the town of Pozuelo de Alarcon, which is close to the Spanish capital city of Madrid.
According to Regional Authority of the Community of Madrid, the man was hit by at least ten bullets while driving his car at around 9:30 a.m. local time close to the British Council School in the well-heeled town of close to 90,000 inhabitants.
The incident happened shortly after he and his wife, who was also in the car at the moment of the shooting, had dropped their son off at school. The woman is reported to be unharmed, although she is being treated for shock.
According to local media reports, the car in which they were travelling was moving at low speed when two individuals on a motorbike overtook them and fired the shots before escaping at high speed.
Spanish National Police are now investigating the incident and the area has been sealed off while investigations are taking place.
