JAKARTA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian official on Tuesday called on Indonesian business community to seize the opportunity of China International Import Expo (CIIE) to explore the Chinese market.

Arlinda Imbang Jaya, director general for national export development at Indonesia's Trade Ministry, made the call at an event held here to promote the CIIE.

The CIIE, a major event organized by the Chinese government to promote a new round of high-level opening-up, will be held in Shanghai later this year.

The expo, which will include exhibitions and forums, provides a platform for trade and services, and offers opportunities for closer international cooperation.

Arlinda Imbang Jaya said the Indonesian government attaches high importance to the CIIE.

At the event, an official from China's Ministry of Commerce expressed hope that Indonesian businesses will make full use of the platform offered by the CIIE to showcase their products and technology.

Organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and Indonesia's Trade Ministry, the event was attended by nearly 100 people from economic and trade sectors of the two countries.
