ZAGREB, March 13 (Xinhua) -- A landslide in central Croatia has caused severe damage to a dozen houses, Croatian national television (HRT) reported on Tuesday.

Although, as HRT informed, people were jumping out of windows and running from the hoses caught by the landslide, no one was seriously injured. Some houses were completely destroyed in minutes.

The accident in Hrvatska Kostajnica, Croatian city near Bosnian border, happened just when Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and some government's ministers were inspecting the damage in the region that was hit by a flood. They were attending a crisis emergency session when the landslide accident happened.

The prime minister was stunned by the accident that he described as a "movie scene".

"A part of the hill slope collapsed, but fortunately there were no casualties. The cause of the landslide is heavy snowmelt," Prime Minister Plenkovic told reporters at the scene.

Croatia was hit by extreme snowy weather and sub-zero temperatures in the past month.

During the last few days, a sudden change of weather and high temperatures have turned snow into floods. Croatian army and emergency crews were sent in the areas that are most exposed to floods.
