HOUSTON, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported Tuesday a moderate increase in U.S. oil inventories by around 1.156 million barrels for the week ending March 9.
Last week, the API reported an increase of 5.661 million barrels of crude oil, with gasoline stockpile dropping 4.536 million barrels.
This week, gasoline inventories again dropped 1.262 million barrels, according to the API report.
Crude oil prices moved lower Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon, the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Brent, two major oil price benchmarks, went down by 1.32 percent to 60.55 U.S. dollars and down 0.75 percent to 64.46 dollars respectively.
