TOKYO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Four officials at a city hall in central Japan were stabbed by a man on Wednesday, according to local reports citing the police.
The male attacker was arrested at the Kanazawa city hall on the scene after inflicting injuries on the victims, which comprised both male and female city employees.
According to local media, the officials who were stabbed were rushed to hospital after the attack which took place on the third floor of the city office.
The incident took place at around 3:00 p.m. local time at the Kanazawa city hall in Ishikawa Prefecture, the central Japan police were quoted as saying.
The extent of the victims' injuries as yet remains unknown, local media reported.
Local police are investigating the details of the knife attack, including the perpetrator's possible motive, local media reported.
