HOUSTON, March 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil inventories increased in the week ending March 9, and refineries operated at 90 percent of their operable capacity, or 432,000 barrels per day more than the previous week's average, said the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Wednesday.
According to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report by the EIA, U.S. commercial crude oil inventories of the week ending March 9 increased by five million barrels from the previous week.
At 430.9 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are in the lower half of the average range for this time of year.
Total products supplied over the last four-week period averaged 20.4 million barrels per day, up by 3.2 percent from the same period last year.
Over the last four weeks, motor gasoline product supplied averaged 9.2 million barrels per day, up by 2.5 percent from the same period last year. Distillate fuel product supplied averaged 4.0 million barrels per day over the last four weeks, down by 4.2 percent from the same period last year.
