MINSK, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine said Wednesday that the situation in southeast Ukraine remains alarming despite a fresh truce announced on March 5.

The TCG negotiators participated in a meeting in Minsk to discuss such issues as the cease-fire regime, pulling back forces and hardware, a new prisoners exchange as well as restoration of mobile telecommunication in conflict-hit eastern region of Donbas.

They said there is a decrease in tensions on the contact line, however, a complete cease-fire had not yet been achieved.

The next meeting of the TCG, a group of representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), will take place on April 4, according to the Belarussian Foreign Ministry.

The conflict in eastern Ukraine broke out in April 2014 between government and separatist forces, having killed more than 10,000 people. There have been dozens of cease-fires after the conflict erupted.
