HELSINKI, March 20 (Xinhua) -- A bomb threat shouted by a passing hoodie cyclist caused a major evacuation of three schools in Pirkkala, near Tampere, central Finland on Tuesday morning, local media said.
The threat was shouted before 8 a.m. when most pupils were already inside the buildings. Some 1,200 pupils were brought away from the Pirkkala high school, Suupanniitty school and Naistenmutka school to a social service day care center.
The police investigated in the schools and found no bomb.
Local paper Aamulehti reported the man's face could not be seen as he wore dark hoodie clothing.
Following the school shootings in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Finnish schools have imposed fast evacuation plans.
