KUWAIT CITY, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait on Friday condemned two terrorist bomb blasts that took place in the cities of Mogadishu and Kabul earlier this week, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait affirmed the country's support for Somalia and Afghanistan in measures taken against violence, extremism and terrorism, an official source from the ministry was quoted as saying.
He urged the international community to double efforts in facing the hateful phenomenon of terrorism, so people may enjoy safety and stability, expressing condolences to victims' families and wishing the injured quick recovery.
At least 14 people were killed and several others injured in a bomb attack outside a popular hotel in Somali capital Mogadishu on Thursday. No group has claimed responsibility for the latest blast but al-Shabaab fighters are often behind such attacks in the country.
On Wednesday, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives while walking among a group of people near Kabul University and Ali Abad hospital, killing at least 33 people and injuring 65 others, the Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack.
