MOSCOW, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Eastern Military District (EMD) has received a new S-400 air defense missile system, the district's press service said on Friday.
The S-400 air defense missile system is considered to be the most advanced of its kind in Russia, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 400 km and at an altitude of up to 30 km, according to the defense ministry.
The EMD is one of the four operational strategic commands of the Russian Armed Forces headquartered in the Far East city of Khabarovsk.
Tactical exercises are scheduled in April.
