Ukraine reports progress in adopting NATO standards

KIEV, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The State Secretary of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Olexandr Dublyan said on Monday that the Ukraine's military is making progress in adopting NATO standards.

According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, Dublyan told local reporters that over 60 percent of the bodies involved in military administration have been brought in line with NATO standards.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian army currently uses 668 NATO along with 975 Ukrainian regulations during the training of its military troops, Dublyan said.

According to Dublyan, about 1,400 Ukrainian military instructors, 10 battalions and 25 squadrons have been trained in accordance with the standards of the alliance.

The Ukrainian government has defined 2020 as a benchmark for when Ukraine should achieve NATO standards.
