MANILA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Bureau of Immigration (BI) of the Philippines has ordered Australian nun Patricia Fox, 71, to leave the country in 30 days after it cancelled her missionary visa for "her involvement in partisan politics."

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said on Wednesday the BI Board of Commissioners has decided to forfeit Fox's visa after "she was found to have engaged in activities that are not allowed under the terms and conditions of her visa."

In a one-page order issued on Monday, Morente said the board ordered the forfeiture of Fox's missionary visa which was due to expire on Sept. 5, 2018. It also directed the deactivation of her alien certificate of registration, he said.

President Rodrigo Duterte said he has ordered an investigation into Fox's "disorderly conduct" in the Philippines. He accused Fox of badmouthing his administration, for which she deserves to be barred entry from the Philippines.

Duterte's spokesman Harry Roque said Fox has been seen participating in anti-government rallies.

The bureau detained Fox on April 16 but released her the next day after BI found she had a valid missionary visa.

Fox's legal counsel in the Philippines said they would appeal the BI order.
