GAZA, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement leaders, relatives and family members of Hamas scientist Fadi al-Batsh, who was killed on April 21 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, received his corpse on Thursday at Rafah crossing between Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Right after al-Batsh was killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday, as he was on his way to a mosque in the Malaysian capital, Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haneya accused the Israeli secret intelligence of "Mussad" of assassinating him.

After al-Batsh was killed, Israeli government leaders announced that they would prevent burring al-Batsh in Gaza until Hamas militants bring back the bodies of missing Israeli soldiers, who had been missing since the Israeli war waged on Gaza in 2014.

Al-Batsh, originally from Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, has been living in Malaysia for ten years, where he earned a PH.D. in electronic engineering.

Following coordination between Hamas and the Malaysian authorities on one hand, and with Egyptian authorities in the other, Hamas managed to bring back his corpse from Kuala Lumpur and flew the coffin to Cairo airport, which arrived on Thursday morning.

On Thursday afternoon, the corpse of al-Batsh was brought to Rafah crossing point between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt. Around 200 people, including Hamas leaders, relatives, friends and family members received the body at the crossing.
