LJUBLJANA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Slovenian Police has apprehended a group of seven migrants in the south of the country after they illegally swam across the Kolpa river bordering with Croatia, local media reported on Monday.
According to the Slovenian regional Novo Mesto Police Department, a body of the drowned from the group was also found in the river at the village of Preloka.
Quoting the police, the Slovenian Press Agency STA said in a report that the group apprehended in the district of Crnomelj are from Algeria.
The new case pushed the figure of illegal migrants entering the country up to 962 since the beginning of this year, a 246 percent increase over the same period last year, said STA.
