PHNOM PENH, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's famed Angkor Archeological Park had attracted 1.05 million foreign visitors in the first four months of 2018, up 11 percent compared to the same period last year, said a statement on Tuesday.

The ancient park earned a gross revenue of 48.2 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales during the January-April period this year, up 23 percent over the same period last year, said the state-owned Angkor Enterprise's statement.

China is still the largest source of tourists to the historic site, followed by South Korea and the United States.

The entrance fee to the park is 37 U.S. dollars for a one-day visit, 62 dollars for a three-day pass, and 72 dollars for a week-long pass.

In the entirety of 2017, the park received 2.45 million foreign tourists, earning 108 million U.S. dollars in revenue from ticket sales.

Located in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is the kingdom's most popular tourist destination.
