NAIROBI, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Dutchman Ruud Krol and France's Sebastien Migne have emerged as the top candidates to be unveiled as Harambee Stars coach in Nairobi on Thursday.
Football Kenya Federation said Wednesday it will name its choice of the man to lead the national team on Thursday with the sole mandate to guide Harambee Stars to the 2019 Africa Nations Cup finals in Cameroon.
However, local coaches have warned foreign tactician to replace Belgian Paul Put that there will be no time to acclimatize as fans are demanding for results.
Kenya Football Coaches Association Secretary General Bob Oyugi said the position will have a lot of pressure and whoever is appointed must be ready to work with it.
"I urge for patience from fans and the appointing authority to give the new coach time to perform. But pressure is part of this job and people want results," Oyugi said in Nairobi Wednesday.
Over 10 foreign coaches applied for the job but two candidates Dutchman Ruud Kroll, 69, and Sebastien Migne, 45, from France hold the upper hand.
The assignment at hand will be to secure Kenya's Harambee Stars qualification to the 2019 Africa Nations Cup.
The last time Harambee Stars competed in the premier football tournament in Africa was 14 years ago in Tunisia.
