NEW DELHI, May 3 (Xinhua) -- More than 20 people have been killed and over 60 injured in India's western state of Rajasthan when stormy winds, blowing at a speed of 90 miles per hour, hit several parts of the state, the online edition of the state's leading daily newspaper Rajasthan Patrika reported on Thursday.

Those injured have been admitted in government hospitals, the media reported, adding that efforts are being made to assess the loss of life and property due to the deadly storm that hit the areas on Wednesday evening.

The deadly storm caused a large number of trees uprooted along the main roads, which led to traffic jams.

At several locations, people died in incidents of wall collapse.

Parts of Delhi and adjoining areas also saw rains and strong winds on Wednesday evening.
