KAMPALA, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA FC have stepped up preparations ahead of a tricky Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League Group D game against eight-time African champions Al Ahly of Egypt.
"We are not taking anything for granted and are busy working on all departments to make sure we get maximum points from that game on May 15," Mike Mutebi, KCCA FC's head coach told Xinhua on Thursday.
KCCA FC started on a wrong note with a 1-0 defeat away to Township Rollers FC last week in Botswana.
Mutebi said, "I am happy that two key midfielders Muzamir Mutyaba and Ibrahim Saddam Juma are back from injury and are now match fit for the game next week."
"After starting with a defeat, we have to prove a point and go all out for maximum points. We must show that we can compete with the big boys."
Al Ahly are also expected to come all out to try and garner for points after drawing 0-0 against Esperance last week in Alexandria.
The Ugandan side are the only team in the Council for East and Central African Football Associations region in the group stage of the lucrative Champions League. They ejected Ethiopia's St. George to enter the group stage.
