World Para-Athletics Grand Prix rounds off in Beijing with one world record

BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 World Para-Athletics Grand Prix Series rounded off here on Sunday with host China finishing first by taking 64 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze medals.

China's Rio Paralympic champion Liu Cuiqing broke the T11 Women's 400m world record on Sunday, the third and final day of competition at the Beijing Grand Prix in China.

The 40-year-old Yang Liwan, who won two gold medals at last year's World Championships, continued her winning form at this competition in Beijing with the F54 Women's javelin.

The three-day event attracted about 268 athletes from 16 countries and regions including Greece, the United States, Kazakhstan, Thailand and host China.

The 2018 World Para-Athletics Grand Prix series now heads to Rieti in Italy (18-20 May) for the fourth of nine Grand Prix set to take place around the world this year.
