BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Wang Chen, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, on Monday met with a Palestinian delegation led by Abbas Zakki, a member of the Fatah Central Committee.

Referring to the two meetings between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Wang said they had reached important consensus and pointed out the direction for the development of bilateral ties during the meetings.

"This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Palestine," Wang said, stressing that China would firmly support Palestine's just cause.

He said the Communist Party of China (CPC) stood ready to consolidate the traditional friendship with Fatah, strengthen exchanges on experience, and promote overall development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries.

For his part, Zakki, also the party's general commissioner to the Arab World and China, said Fatah attached importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC and was willing to learn from its experience in ruling the party and the country.
