Albania busts criminal group providing false visas

TIRANA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Albanian police has busted a criminal group of 41 Albanians and Greeks, who are suspected of trading false visas and documents, Albanian State Police said on Tuesday.

Director of the state police Ardi Veliu announced it at a press conference.

Veliu said investigations have started since November 2016, and the group is accused of providing false documents for about 20,000 euros (around 24,000 U.S. dollars)

The suspects provided the trafficked persons false visas to travel to the United States, Britain and Canada.

Moreover, two Albanian police officers were also accused of abusing duties by providing the criminal group with the data they had, according to Veliu.
